Aren't short weeks the best? This week flew by in a flash, and suddenly here we are on September 11. I'm not going to spend much time talking about 9/11. A few years ago I wrote about my experience on September 11, and it continues to be a day that leaves me feeling very emotional and all like it was yesterday.
But! In happier news, this was a good week coming off of Labor Day weekend. I didn't do a real recap yet so I thought I'd roll it into today's weekly wrap up!
We kicked off the weekend with a trip to the splash park, followed by a day in Long Beach Island on Saturday.
The beach weather was perfectly warm yet cooled down with a pleasant breeze. The ocean was experiencing a riptide and so the water was rough and unpleasant, albeit warm for jersey shore water.
We also had late lunch/early dinner at my favorite spot, Pinky Shrimp's. Seriously the best dang seafood in Jersey. The broiled crab cakes are the best I've ever had.
We picked up a peach and berry pie from my favorite farm stand.
Sunday we spent the day swimming with my parents, aunts, uncles and cousins. Penelope loves her cousins so much and they had a ball. There's not much better than a beautiful day by the pool with family.
Monday we spent the day at home. I had groceries delivered, got lots of chores out of the way and even stole some time to watch a few eps of Scandal during Penelope's nap time. We spent the evening on the terrace, eating cheese, drinking wine and playing trains. It was a great end to the weekend.
I woke up Tuesday and got started back on the Dukan Diet. Last year it helped me lose a lot of weight and I felt and thought I looked great. I'm starting again in prep for my sisters wedding, in two short weeks! The week actually wasn't too hard and I'm starting to feel a little less puffy and lighter. Here's hoping that the weekend is easy on the dieting front. We have a fun weekend planned, and I hope you have a wonderful one as well!
