It’s hard to believe but when I left you last, I was just a few days away from welcoming my sweet baby boy into the world. If you follow me on Instagram, then you’ve already met him. But if not, here he is. Meet Henry.

Henry was born on June 12, 2017, weighing a whopping 8 lbs, 15 oz. I couldn’t believe how big he looked on the table where they cleaned and weighed him.

It was a tougher birth experience than with Penelope, but as I’ve learned over the last 8 months, just like children’s ages, second babies aren’t necessarily easier...they’re just different.
I spent the summer at home with H, while Penelope went to day camp. My sister also had a baby this summer - a beautiful little girl named Eliza - and so we spent a lot of time with our parents, camping out at their house for days at a time. I feel incredibly lucky to have had that time, not only with Penelope and Henry, but with my parents, with my sister and with my niece!
Henry has grown so quickly over the last 8 months. What they say is true...the second time just flies right on by.
He’s sitting and waving, rolling around and playing with toys. He’s got two bottom teeth. He eats like a champ. He’s so happy...as long as he’s fed.

We’re still really struggling in the sleep department. He’s been a rough sleeper since day one, waking every 2 hours to eat for months. As he’s gotten older, he’s of course gotten better, but even at 8 months he still wakes at least once, if not twice, a night. I didn’t realize how spoiled we were when Penelope was this age. She was tough in different ways, but boy did she sleep. By the time I went back to work at 3 months she was sleeping 12 hours straight overnight.
I know.
I haven’t had a full night’s sleep in almost a year, coupled with trying to be a present mom and also a 9-5, work-out-of-the-Home Mom. it’s hard. It’s a post for another time, but let’s just leave it as...it’s hard. I feel so lucky to have these two amazing kiddos, but just keepin' it real that while there are so many smiles, which make my life, there are some tough moments too!

We celebrated his first Halloween, where he was the essential milk to Penelope’s pink doughnut.

We celebrated his first Christmas, which tbh was just magical with both kids.

We celebrated his baptism earlier this year with our family and friends.

We took our first big trip as a family of four...to Disney World!
And here we are, already 8 months in and I’m all thinking about his first birthday in 4 short months and fighting back tears. I know I still have a few months, but I truly cannot believe how grown he is already!
I hope you enjoyed meeting my sweet, silly, happy, hungry little boy!
